The opening celebration for the Magic Johnson’s Atlanta Bridgescape center will be held TODAY, Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the DTLR store at South DeKalb Mall in DeKalb County.
Bridgescape is a drop-out prevention and recovery program designed to help people aged 14 to 20 who are either at risk of quitting school or who have left and want to return to complete their high school education.

The program is free and offers a blend of online and small group instruction through Provost Academy Georgia in Decatur.
Friday’s event will be hosted by Hot 107.9 radio personality Emperor Searcy and interested students can register there.

Great post. I am a huge supporter of prevention and intervention programs for at risk youth. I always find time to volunteer at such programs. Kudos to Magic Johnson.

This is a wonderful program for students. Thanks for the read. I recently watched a late night PBS special on drop outs in America and it is stunning how many students drop out from lack of ambition, family issues or peer pressure. I commend Magic Johnson for recognizing this need in local communities.
